What a complete tech pack contains
A tech pack is not a drawing — it is the answers to every question a factory would otherwise have to ask you, one email at a time. Complete packs get quoted in days; incomplete ones get quoted in rounds.
The eleven answers
A quotable pack answers: (1) fabric — fiber, construction, and weight, “190gsm combed cotton single jersey” not “soft cotton”; (2) a measurement chart with tolerances per point; (3) construction — seams, stitching, folder details; (4) the trim list with qualities, “YKK 18cm nylon zip” not “zipper”; (5) artwork with placements, sizes, and techniques; (6) colorways against a standard (Pantone TCX beats a phone photo); (7) size range and ratio; (8) labeling — main, care, fiber content, country of origin for your market; (9) packing — folded or hung, polybag spec, assortment; (10) the quality standard you’ll inspect to; (11) target quantity and delivery window.
The three omissions that cost a week each
First: no fabric weight — every supplier assumes a different one and the quotes stop being comparable. Second: no size ratio — consumption and packing both depend on it, so quotes come back hedged. Third: no stated quality standard — the factory prices for its default and the mismatch surfaces at final inspection, the most expensive possible moment to discover it.

A good partner completes packs for a living. A photo of a garment you like plus a target price and quantity is a real starting point — what matters is knowing which answers are still open, so the first quotation says what it assumed.
